ULEZ uses emissions evidence, not just vehicle age. Euro 3 is the motorcycle minimum. Confirm your registration with TfL before travelling.

Transparent numbers. Useful limits.

Petrol cost = annual miles ÷ UK mpg × 4.54609 litres per imperial gallon × price per litre. Electric cost = miles ÷ miles per kWh × price per kWh. This budget excludes depreciation, finance, parking, breakdown cover and unexpected repairs unless you add them to your maintenance allowance.

Single annual motorcycle VED: up to 150cc £27; 151–400cc £59; 401–600cc £90; above 600cc £125. Electric motorcycles pay £27 unless an exemption applies. Instalment payments may cost more. Only select exempt if DVLA has confirmed the vehicle’s tax class.

London and other UK clean air zones

Non-compliant motorcycles pay £12.50 per chargeable calendar day in London ULEZ. A journey crossing midnight can count as two days. Unknown compliance produces a range, not a verdict. Local clean air zone rules differ, and motorcycle coverage is not the same as car coverage. Check GOV.UK Clean Air Zones and the relevant local authority. For Scotland see Low Emission Zones Scotland. The local-charge option is a manual scenario, not an automated nationwide registration lookup.
